SPECIALTY TRAFFIC RESPONSE TEAM

Welcome to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department Volunteer Program known as the Specialty Traffic Response Team - (STRT).

STRT works closely with the LVMPD’s Traffic and Fatal Details teams to assist in closing down roadways during emergency situations or public events requiring additional traffic control. We are quick to respond to emergency scenes when requested by LVMPD, NHP, NLVPD, Clark County and Las Vegas Fire. We specialize in assisting these departments in closing roads, securing scenes and rerouting traffic whenever and wherever needed.

The Specialty Traffic Response Team is committed to providing the public with safe travel alternatives when temporary road restrictions are put in place by emergency services. Additionally, we will help to secure and maintain emergency-related scenes so that first-responders can safely and expeditiously conduct their business. Our ultimate goal is to get the community back in service as fast and as safe as possible with minimal disruption.
